I was in touch with Workingmums recently, a great job and community site for working mums, and as a result of that contact was asked if I would be interviewed for an article on the site, talking about my experiences as a working mum.
What this made clear to me more than anything was that although my current situation of working for myself from home and prioritising children over work until my youngest goes to school is not everyone’s ideal, it is very much what myself and my partner set out to do and has resulted in us having a lovely family life into which work fits, rather than fitting our family life around work.
We are very fortunate as a family that we can do this.
The other thing that I took away from the process of being interviewed is that I need to be much more explicit about what I am doing, package it up in a friendlier way, and start to get out and sell what I am doing as a series of packages that can help other businesses to make commercial sense of online and social media.

I would love to hear your feedback on this, and how you feel about the way you are currently balancing your life and priorities.
